Hip-Hop Rumors: We Don't Need No Rumors Today!

I would like to quickly clarify what happened at the Kanye West show in California. Actually, it was a Common show that Kanye popped up on. Last week I said that Kanye dissed the Grammys. Well, it wasn't at the Anaheim show like I said. This apparently occurred at the Hollywood show at the House of Blues. I wasn't there so I didn't hear it or anything. Also, I heard that in a third verse freestyle, Kanye said “I beat 50."
Thanks a lot, Peter!! (See the pics down below)

EMINEM RUMORS FALSE

There was another crappy Eminem rumor coming out that the Detroit rapper was going to be wrestling in the WWE. Shame on you if you believed that one. It was refuted faster than any other rumor in the history of man.

No more weekends off: P’s & C’s reporting

The great L.A. Times scribe Jim Murray once said, "Spring is the time of year when the ground thaws, trees bud, the income tax falls due — and everybody wins the pennant."

And so it is that your correspondent, memorably dubbed as the faux "crusading everyman" by one of our angrier blog participants, has already done his taxes, an annual end-of-January ritual before heading to spring training and being immersed in a six-week world where normal life is put on hold and baseball takes precedence over all else.

We'll be headed down Wednesday, a day before pitchers and catchers are officially required to report. Need some time to stock the fridge of the rental house and get a lay of the land in our new neighborhood, plus stop by the ballpark at Dark Star to see how many eager Braves arrived early.

Softball Looks to Get Back On Track at Frost Classic

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (February 28, 2008) - The University of Connecticut softball team heads to the Frost Classic on the campus of UT-Chattanooga this weekend looking to earn their first win of the season. The Huskies will play Indiana on Friday at 9:45 a.m. in the first game of the tournament.

UConn is 0-5 on the year after beginning the season last weekend at the Golden Panther Classic in Miami, Fla. That included two losses to number one ranked Alabama. In the first game, which the Huskies lost 9-1, Connecticut held a 1-0 lead through the first four innings, before the Crimson Tide offense was able to get going. UConn also lost a couple of close games to host Florida International, 5-4 and 4-3. In the first game, they had the bases loaded in the top of the seventh but a game ending double play ended their comeback attempt.
