A Chicago developer unveiled plans in the city's Wrigleyville neighborhood Wednesday night for a nine-story, mixed-use development with a hotel that would stand virtually eye-to-eye with Wrigley Field. Representatives for developer Steven Schultz, who owns land across the street from the ballpark at the north end of the block bounded by Clark and Addison Streets and Sheffield Avenue, met with community members and Ald. Tom Tunney to seek support for the project. Schultz wants to build two nine-story buildings connected by a four or five-story base, with a Hyatt Place hotel on the Clark Street side and residences at Addison and Sheffield. The hotel would have about 135 rooms, and the other building would contain about 150 rental units. There also would be about 100,000 square feet of commercial space on the land, plus a health club and 500 parking spaces.
Milan's Vittorio Emanuele shopping arcade
Matthew Hendry, manager of the new Sloans Market which will launch on February 24 in Morrison Court, linking Buchanan Street and Argyle Street, is also backing the idea. He said: "Anything that attracts people to the city centre shops, especially on Buchanan Street, is great for retailers in the area. "Buchanan Street is one of Scotland's busiest streets so we would welcome anything that boosts that profile. A covered area on Buchanan Street would add to Glasgow's cosmopolitan feel." Glasgow Chamber of Commerce chief executive Lesley Sawers said: "Investment of this scale and imagination is vital if Glasgow is to keep its place as a major short-stay tourist and leisure destination." .

Tigers, Volunteers take state rivalry to national stage
Cincinnati and Ohio State played each other twice in the 1960s as No. 1 vs. No. 2, and Duke and North Carolina met twice in the 1990s. Those last two games were Atlantic Coast Conference matchups. This game? Well, Memphis belongs to the lightly regarded Conference USA, while Tennessee is in the Southeastern Conference. They are playing for the third time in an eight-year deal in basketball, the sport Memphis uses to get Tennessee to play the Tigers in football. The Tigers (26-0) are putting their perfect record and the nation's longest home-court winning streak at 47 games on the line. "Them. Us. Everybody in the state. It's an ego game," Memphis coach John Calipari said. "That game has been played up to alevel that I can't even begin to tell you." It's the game Tennessee didn't want right now.
